Finding evidence

Outreach team

Our team of outreach librarians can help you with your evidence searches. These are in-depth, high-quality searches to help you find the available evidence in a topic. We find the latest high-quality evidence from research, practice examples, and improvement reports. This will help you in making decisions and improving services. We have access to many health-related databases, which hold details of publications including journals, books, policy and guidance and statistical data.

Embedded clinical support

As well as helping you with your evidence searches, our team of outreach librarians can help you in your workplace, wards or offices. We attend and support clinical team meetings, clinical governance and policy meetings, journal clubs, education sessions such as case-based discussions and more. This can be on demand, occasional or on a regular basis. Contact our outreach team for more information.

Keep up to date

Keeping up to date with the latest news and research is often difficult. We can help by sending you information tailored to your needs. We have a current awareness service called KnowledgeShare plus other news bulletins that we send out on a regular basis, including a bulletin for managers and one for nursing staff. We tailor the information we send to you to your specific needs. Let us know the area you are interested in and we will do the rest. Learn more on our online guide.

OUH managers

We provide a free source of information on health and social care policy and management. We can help with literature searches and information queries online, over the phone or in person. We can carry out in-depth, high-quality searches to help you find the available evidence on a given topic. Using databases with access to journals, books, grey literature, statistical data and narrative reviews, we can help you access the evidence you require.
