From April 2016 the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) changed the requirements that nurses and midwives must meet when they renew their registration every three years. Registrants need to undertake 35 hours of continuous professional development (CPD) (of which 20 hours need to be participatory). CPD can include reading and reflecting on professional reading. How we can help you with revalidation
Library staff can help you to find articles, guidelines or reviews from resources such as the NHS Healthcare Databases, Cochrane Library or NICE Evidence. We also have study space which you can use for reading and reflection, and PCs for e-learning.

You can find all the journals we have purchased for you in the NICE A-Z list of journals. Login with your NHS OpenAthens username and password.
If you are looking for an article but you can’t find the full text online, fill in the request form, and we will obtain a copy of the article for you. There is a charge for this service.
