One-to-one and group training

We offer one-to-one, small, or large group sessions to support your practice, research or course work. The sessions are tailored to suit your specific needs and could be a one-off session or a series of sessions. This will help you to gain the skills and confidence to support your practice.

We cover subjects including evidence-based practice, reference management software, systematic review searching, and critical appraisal skills. We are happy to come to your workplace for these or you can come to the library. Contact your Outreach Librarian for more information.

Our outreach team offer free training sessions to help you develop your search skills - from beginner to advanced level. Most sessions include hands-on practice. Topics covered include essential and advanced search skills, making the most of PubMed, NHS Athens resources, finding online journals, reference management software, and open access publishing.

We can also carry out literature searches for you to help you find the evidence to improve your effectiveness in patient care, research, Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and quality & risk.

If you are studying, we can offer training to help you find articles and references for your essay or dissertation. We are here to help you with electronic database training, search skills, keeping up to date, book and journal recommendations, and general references enquiries.

Contact us to arrange group or one-to-one training sessions in our libraries or at a location to suit you.
