Bookable study and training spaces

The Cairns Library, Knowledge Centre and Girdlestone Memorial Library have bookable study and training rooms available for use.

Cairns Library, Level 3 Academic Centre, John Radcliffe Hospital

The following spaces are available to book within the Cairns Library for calls or group meetings.

We welcome bookings from OUH NHS Foundation Trust employees or those on placement within the OUH NHS Foundation Trust, and University of Oxford card holders.

Individual booths

The Cairns Library has 2 individual booths. These can be used for online meetings or calls. Each booth has a single plug socket, as well as a USB-A and USB-C fitting for laptops or phones.

The light and air circulation come on when you open the door. (The room is not air conditioned.) The booths are fairly well soundproofed. If you are taking videos calls, please use headphones where possible.

Please note: due to these booths being in the main area of the Cairns Library (opposite the Book Collection Door), you will need a valid University of Oxford or Bodleian Health Care Libraries card to access this room 24/7.

Due to limited space in the library, hospital study which doesn’t involve conference calls or group chat should be undertaken in the main library where possible, so the above spaces can be kept for readers who need spaces for conversation.
